Compact Business Desktop

The Dell OptiPlex 7060 SFF is a small-form-factor desktop built for office environments. It ships with an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8700 hexa-core processor, 8 GB of DDR4 memory, a 256 GB M.2 SSD plus a 1 TB hard drive, and Windows 10 Pro pre-installed. A USB keyboard and mouse are included.

Thermals and Power

The 65 W processor runs within the compact chassis using standard SFF cooling. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics keeps power draw low during typical productivity workloads. The included USB wireless dongle adds 5 GHz capability without increasing internal heat output. Fan noise remains modest in normal office use.

Dual-Drive Configuration

The decisive specification is the combined 256 GB M.2 SSD and 1 TB hard drive, delivering fast boot times alongside high-capacity local storage. Buyers who need more than 1 TB of solid-state capacity or a discrete graphics card should look elsewhere. The SFF case limits internal expansion to two PCIe card slots.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 8 GB DDR4 UDIMM into the 240-pin slots on the OptiPlex 7060 SFF?

Align the notch on the DDR4 UDIMM with the key in the 240-pin DIMM slot, press firmly until the side clips snap shut, then verify 8 GB appears in BIOS before booting Windows 10 Pro.

What maintenance or replacement will the 256 GB M.2 SSD and 1 TB hard drive need later?

The 256 GB M.2 SSD has no moving parts and needs no mechanical service; the 1 TB hard drive may require replacement if SMART errors appear or capacity fills, and both support cloning to larger drives.

What limit appears first under sustained load with the Intel Core i7-8700 65 W processor in this SFF chassis?

The 65 W CPU will hit its thermal ceiling first, causing Intel Turbo Boost to drop from 4.60 GHz toward the 3.20 GHz base clock once the small-form-factor cooler saturates.
