Compact Business Desktop

The DELL OptiPlex 790 is a slim form factor desktop designed for business environments. It runs on an Intel Core i3-2120 processor operating at 3.3 GHz with 8 GB of memory. A 250 GB hard drive provides storage and Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed. A DVDRW optical drive and a 1.6" display are included.

Ideal for Office Tasks

This system suits users handling everyday office applications, web browsing and document management within a small footprint. The compact chassis fits tight workspaces while delivering reliable performance for standard productivity. Buyers needing extensive local storage capacity or higher processing power for demanding workloads should consider other configurations. The integrated graphics limit suitability for specialised visual tasks.

250 GB Mechanical Drive

The single 250 GB hard drive determines how much data can be stored locally before expansion is required. Its mechanical nature affects boot and load times compared with solid-state alternatives. Users planning large media libraries or multiple virtual machines will find the capacity restrictive. This specification is the primary factor when assessing whether the system meets storage requirements.

Questions about this item

What type of monitor connection does the OptiPlex 790 need for its integrated graphics?

The system uses integrated Intel HD Graphics which provides VGA and DisplayPort outputs; a monitor with a matching VGA or DisplayPort input is required.

Will a legacy PCI expansion card fit inside this 3.70-inch wide small-form-factor chassis?

The slim chassis accepts only low-profile cards; a standard-height PCI card will not fit without a riser bracket that is not included.

Open Task Manager in Windows 10 Pro, select the Performance tab, and verify the CPU speed reads 3.30 GHz under load.
