Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower desktop

This new Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower desktop arrives with an Intel 2nd Gen Quad-Core i5-2400 processor at 3.10 GHz, 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and a dual-drive layout pairing a 128 GB 2.5" SSD with a 1 TB 3.5" hard drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and a DVD±RW drive, USB keyboard and mouse are included. A 265 W power supply and Gigabit Ethernet complete the specification.

Suited to office and study tasks needing two drives

The system suits students or home-office users who want the responsiveness of a solid-state boot drive plus a large mechanical volume for documents and media. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 2000 and the modest 265 W supply limit gaming or intensive creative work, so buyers who need discrete graphics or a higher-wattage chassis should look elsewhere.

4 GB DDR3 memory installed with 16 GB maximum

The board holds 4 GB of DDR3 RAM today and supports up to 16 GB total, so the single figure that decides whether this unit fits the workload is the installed memory capacity. Buyers who require more than 16 GB of system memory or a newer memory generation will need a different platform.
