Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower

This desktop computer is built for home-office workers and students who need a reliable Windows 10 Pro system for everyday tasks. The Intel 2nd Gen i5-2400 quad-core processor runs at 3.10 GHz with a 3.40 GHz turbo boost, supported by 4 GB of DDR3 memory. A 256 GB SSD provides fast boot times while a 1 TB hard drive adds capacity for files and media.

Setup checks before ordering

Verify that your monitor has a VGA, DVI or DisplayPort input compatible with the integrated Intel HD Graphics 2000 output. Ensure you have a free USB port for the included wireless dongle and space for a mini-tower chassis measuring 265 W power supply. The system ships with a USB keyboard and mouse, so no separate input devices are required.

Upgrade path and value

The dual-drive configuration replaces a single mechanical drive with an SSD plus HDD combo, cutting boot and application load times significantly. Memory can be expanded to 8 GB or 16 GB DDR3 using the available DIMM slots for heavier multitasking. Buyers who need dedicated graphics, more than 16 GB of RAM or a smaller form factor should consider other models.
