Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower

The Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower is a desktop computer built around an Intel Quad-Core i7-2600 processor running at 3.40 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of DDR3 memory and a 512 GB 2.5-inch solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and a DVD±RW drive, USB keyboard and USB mouse are included.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This system suits buyers who need a ready-to-use office or home desktop with an SSD for fast boot times and enough RAM for everyday multitasking. It is not for users who require more than 16 GB of DDR3 memory or who need a graphics card beyond the integrated option.

Capacity and headroom

The 512 GB SSD provides ample space for the operating system, applications and a large document library. The 8 GB of installed DDR3 handles typical productivity workloads comfortably; the platform supports up to 16 GB if additional headroom is needed.

Questions about this item

What display connection does the OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower need for a monitor?

The desktop has integrated graphics with VGA and DisplayPort outputs, so a monitor with either input and a matching cable is required.

Will the i7-2600 3.40GHz processor run 64-bit Windows 10 Pro smoothly alongside older DDR3 memory?

Yes, the quad-core CPU supports 64-bit operation and the installed 8 GB DDR3 matches the platform, so the pre-installed Windows 10 Pro 64-bit will run normally.

How can I verify the 512 GB SSD is recognised at its full capacity after first boot?

Open File Explorer or Disk Management in Windows 10 Pro; the drive should show approximately 512 GB total space with the operating system already installed.
