Dell OptiPlex 990 Mini Tower

This desktop computer uses an Intel 2nd Gen i7-2600 processor with four cores running at 3.40 GHz and a turbo frequency of 3.90 GHz. It includes 8 GB of DDR3 memory and a 2.5 inch 256 GB solid state drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed alongside a DVD-RW drive, gigabit ethernet, USB keyboard and mouse. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 2000 handles display output.

Check power supply and memory limits before ordering

The 265 W power supply restricts graphics card upgrades to low-profile models without external power connectors. Memory uses 240-pin DDR3 DIMM slots; the supplier notes a maximum of 16 GB so adding modules beyond that will not work. Verify that your monitor connects via the available video ports on the integrated graphics.

Sustained load behaviour with 265 W PSU

Under continuous multi-threaded work the quad-core CPU will hit its 3.90 GHz turbo but the 265 W unit limits total system power draw. Integrated graphics share system memory and have no dedicated VRAM, so extended gaming or compute tasks throttle quickly. The SSD maintains steady read speeds while the DVD-RW and gigabit ethernet operate within the same power envelope.
