Compact USFF desktop for office tasks

The Dell OptiPlex 990 USFF delivers a 2.9–3.30 GHz quad-core Intel i5 processor and 8 GB of DDR3 memory in an ultra-small chassis. Windows 10 Professional 64-bit is pre-installed with a Certificate of Authenticity. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 2500 drives display output without a discrete card. The 128 GB 2.5-inch SSD provides fast boot and application loading for everyday productivity.

Fits tight spaces with integrated connectivity

The USFF case occupies minimal desk room and includes a 16X DVD±RW drive for optical media. Gigabit Ethernet and a USB WiFi adapter handle wired and wireless networks without extra cards. USB keyboard and mouse are supplied so only a monitor is required to start working. The 240-pin DDR3 slots and 2.5-inch drive bay define the upgrade path for memory and storage.

Ready-to-use peripherals and licensed OS

A USB keyboard and mouse are bundled, removing the need for separate input devices. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit with CoA eliminates the cost and effort of sourcing an operating system licence. The included WiFi USB adapter adds wireless capability immediately. The DVD±RW drive supports legacy media installation and backup without external hardware.

Questions about this item

Does the 128 GB SSD leave enough space for large files after Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit is installed?

The 128 GB 2.5-inch SSD holds the operating system and applications; remaining capacity depends on the software you add. Large media libraries will need external or network storage.

How loud and hot does the ultra-small chassis get when the Intel Quad-Core i5 runs at 3.30 GHz all day?

The compact USFF case uses a small internal fan; sustained turbo speeds raise core temperature and fan speed, so expect noticeable airflow noise and warm exhaust after hours of load.

Which display cable do I need to connect a monitor to the integrated Intel HD Graphics 2500 output?

The rear panel provides VGA and DisplayPort connectors; choose a cable that matches your monitor’s input — VGA for older screens, DisplayPort for newer ones.
