For owners repairing a Studio 17 series chassis

The assembly suits anyone restoring a compatible Studio 17 model where the original palmrest is damaged or the touchpad has failed. It does not suit buyers who need integrated speakers, as those are not included, nor builders working on any laptop outside the three listed models.

Dell part number U859P confirms fit

The single specification that decides compatibility is the Dell part number U859P, which matches the service tag for Studio 1745, 1747 and 1749 units. Verify this number against your laptop documentation before ordering to ensure the correct replacement.
