Dell PD-118W USB-C Power Adapter

The Dell PD-118W is an 85 W USB-C AC adapter with a 10 ft cable. It suits owners of MacBook Pro and Air models from 13 to 16 inches plus iPad Pro, Chromebook and USB-C phones who need a single charger for travel or desk use.

Installation and common issues

Plug the foldable EU pin into any 100-240 V socket and connect the USB-C end to the device; the brick negotiates 20 V at up to 4.7 A automatically. The main friction point is the fixed 10 ft cable — if the connector or insulation frays the whole unit must be replaced.

USB-C Power Delivery limits

The adapter delivers up to 85 W over USB-C PD 3.0 with voltage steps at 20.5 V, 15 V, 12 V, 9 V and 5.2 V. Devices that require more than 85 W will charge slower or not at all, and the single port prevents simultaneous laptop and phone charging.
