Questions about this item

Will the laser pickup on this DH-16D5S need replacement after heavy use?

The optical pickup is a sealed unit; if read errors appear on pressed media after extended duty, the entire drive is replaced rather than servicing the laser alone.

What limit appears first when this 16x DVD-ROM runs at full speed for long periods?

Continuous 16x reads produce internal heat that triggers the drive's thermal protection, causing it to throttle speed before any external bus constraint is reached.
