Genuine SAS Backplane Cable for PowerEdge 6950

This genuine Dell original SAS backplane cable carries part number NJ877 and is built for the PowerEdge 6950 server platform. It connects the internal SAS backplane to the storage controller to maintain reliable drive communication. System administrators maintaining or repairing these specific servers will require this exact replacement part. It is not suitable for any other server model or workstation platform.

Designed for Standard Server Thermal Envelopes

The cable uses passive copper conductors and adds no active cooling requirement or measurable power draw to the chassis. It produces zero acoustic noise because it contains no moving parts or electronic components. Routing follows the factory cable-management channels so airflow across the backplane and drive bays remains unimpeded. No additional thermal management is needed beyond the server’s standard fan profile.

Questions about this item

How is the SAS backplane cable NJ877 installed in the PowerEdge 6950?

The cable connects the SAS backplane to the RAID controller or motherboard inside the PowerEdge 6950; a common mistake is not fully seating both connectors, which can cause intermittent drive detection.

What maintenance or replacement will the SAS backplane cable NJ877 need over time?

The cable itself has no scheduled maintenance; replace it only if physical damage or persistent SAS link errors appear during server diagnostics.
