1U rack server with 10-core Xeon, 16GB DDR4, eight 300GB 15K SAS drives and H330 RAID controller
Installed Memory Size 16GB
HDD 8 x 300GB
The Dell PowerEdge R430 is a 1U rack server built for dense compute environments. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 ten-core processor running at 2.3 GHz and 16 GB of DDR4 memory across twelve DIMM slots. Eight 300 GB 15K SAS drives connect through a PERC H330 RAID controller supporting levels 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. A redundant 550 W power supply and iDRAC8 remote management come standard.
This server fits workloads that benefit from high core counts and fast SAS storage in a single rack unit, such as virtualisation clusters or database nodes. The installed memory tops out at 16 GB and the board only accepts DDR4, so buyers who want larger memory footprints or different memory generations should look elsewhere. Only one CPU is fitted from a possible two, and the two PCIe 3.0 slots limit add-in card expansion.
The system includes one ten-core Xeon running at 2.3 GHz with twenty threads via hyper-threading. A second socket is empty and available for an identical processor to double the core count. The C610 chipset and twelve DDR4 slots support up to 384 GB total when both sockets are populated, but the current 16 GB configuration is fixed unless additional modules are sourced separately.

Other versions of this model
The server uses 2.5-inch hot-plug SAS drives; they require 2.5-inch bays or suitable adapters to fit 3.5-inch chassis slots.
Check the controller BIOS during POST and use the iDRAC8 interface to verify RAID array status and drive health.
The box contains the server, one 550W power supply, power cable and drive trays; rail kit, bezel and second PSU are sold separately.
