Compact 1U rack server for dense deployments

The Dell PowerEdge R440 is a 1U rackmount server built for business, data centre, virtualisation, cloud and storage workloads. Dual Intel Xeon Gold 6130 processors deliver 16 cores each at 2.1 GHz with 3.7 GHz turbo. 128 GB of DDR4-2666 ECC registered memory supports reliable operation across demanding applications.

Four 3.5-inch drive bays with PERC H730P controller

The chassis provides four 3.5-inch drive bays populated with fillers, ready for SAS or SATA drives. A Dell PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache and battery backs RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. Dual integrated Gigabit Ethernet ports handle network traffic while iDRAC 9 Express enables remote monitoring and administration. Twin 550 W platinum power supplies provide redundancy in a space-efficient package.

Upgrade from single-socket

Organisations moving from single-processor servers or systems with less than 128 GB of ECC memory gain the multi-threaded headroom needed for virtualisation hosts, database workloads and application hosting. The jump is worthwhile when rack density must stay at 1U while processor core count and memory capacity both need to scale together.
