2U rack server with a ten-core Xeon at 2.3 GHz, 48 GB DDR4, dual 2 TB SAS drives and an H730 RAID controller supporting RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60
Installed Memory Size 48GB
HDD 2 x 2TB SAS
This 2U Dell PowerEdge R530 rack server arrives new with a single Intel Xeon E5-2650 V3 ten-core processor at 2.3GHz and 48GB of DDR4 memory across twelve DIMM slots. It ships with two 2TB 7.2K SAS drives on a PERC H730 RAID controller supporting levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 750W redundant power supplies and iDRAC8 remote management are included.
The system populates 48GB across the twelve DDR4 slots, reaching the stated maximum capacity for this configuration. Each processor supports six slots at speeds up to 2400MT/s depending on the CPU capability. Buyers who need more than 48GB of memory cannot expand this unit without replacing modules.
Eight 3.5-inch hot-plug bays allow drive changes without downtime, and the supplied rail kit fits standard racks. The PERC H730 controller manages RAID entirely in hardware, so no software array setup is required. The server ships without an operating system, so the installer must provide one before the array becomes usable.

Other versions of this model
The installed E5-2650 V3 delivers ten cores at 2.3 GHz with twenty threads via hyper-threading, giving strong multi-threaded throughput for virtualization or database workloads within the 2U form factor.
The Perc H730 runs at 12 Gbps SAS and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, so the controller itself does not limit the 6 Gbps SAS drives or any faster SAS SSDs you add later.
The server is a 2U rack unit measuring 25.4 inches deep, 17.1 inches wide and 3.4 inches high, weighing 62 lbs, and the included rail kit fits standard square-hole or threaded 4-post racks.
