1U rack server with dual Xeon E5-2637 V3 3.5 GHz CPUs, 128 GB DDR4, H330 RAID controller and eight 2.5-inch hot-plug drive bays
Installed Memory Size 128GB
HDD None
The Dell PowerEdge R630 is a 1U rack server fitted with two Intel Xeon E5-2637 V3 quad-core processors running at 3.5 GHz. It ships with 128 GB of DDR4 memory installed across its 24 DIMM slots. This configuration suits virtualisation hosts, database nodes or compute clusters that need high per-core frequency in a dense form factor. The system supports up to 1536 GB total memory for future expansion.
Two 750 W redundant hot-swap power supplies keep the server running if one unit fails. The chassis provides eight 2.5-inch hot-plug drive bays accepting SAS or SATA drives, managed by a PERC H330 controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. Networking comes from a daughter card with four 1 GbE ports, with optional 10 GbE upgrades available. Three PCIe 3.0 slots plus a dedicated PERC slot allow additional I/O cards.
The unit measures 26.8 inches deep and 3.4 inches high, so confirm your rack can accommodate that depth and 1U height. No drive trays or drives are included, so you must source compatible 2.5-inch SAS or SATA trays for the eight bays. An operating system is not supplied; plan your own OS installation. The Matrox G200 graphics provides basic video output only, and the iDRAC8 Express remote management is included with enterprise upgrades available.

Other versions of this model
The H330 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60 across the eight 2.5-inch hot-plug bays.
The 1U chassis measures 26.8 inches deep, 17.44 inches wide, 3.4 inches high and weighs 58 lbs.
Populate the 12 slots per processor evenly across all channels; the common error is leaving gaps that force the system to run at lower speed.
