DELL PowerEdge R640 1U Rack Server 2x Xeon Gold 5118 2.3GHz 12-Core 64GB DDR4 8x 1.2TB SAS H730P

Dense 1U Dual-Socket Platform

The Dell PowerEdge R640 is a 1U rack server built for dense scale-out data center computing. It ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 5118 processors, each running at 2.30 GHz with 12 cores and a 3.2 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 64 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory across four 16 GB modules. It is designed for organisations that need high core counts in a single rack unit.

Redundant 750 W Platinum Power

Two hot-swap 750 W platinum-efficiency power supplies provide redundant power for the dual-processor configuration and eight drive bays. The 1U chassis uses forced-air cooling tuned for the installed components. Acoustic output and thermal margins are managed by the integrated iDRAC 9 Enterprise controller, which monitors system health and adjusts fan speeds dynamically during normal operation.

Eight-Bay SAS Storage with 10 GbE

The front panel holds eight 2.5-inch bays populated with 1.2 TB 10K SAS drives connected to a PERC H730P 2 GB controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. A quad-port network daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links for high-throughput connectivity. Twenty-four DIMM slots allow memory expansion up to 3 TB, while the LGA 3647 sockets are already fully populated with the maximum two processors. Ready Rails and a front bezel are included for immediate rack installation.
