1U rack server with dual Xeon Gold 6330 28-core CPUs, 256 GB DDR4, ten 600 GB SAS drives, H745 RAID, dual 10 GbE SFP+, iDRAC9 Enterprise and redundant 1400 W supplies
The Dell PowerEdge R650xs is a 1U rack server built for dense data-centre deployments. It ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 6330 processors, each delivering 28 cores at 2.0 GHz with 3.1 GHz turbo. The system includes 256 GB of DDR4 2933 MHz registered ECC memory across eight 32 GB modules. Dual 1400 W platinum power supplies provide redundant hot-swap power.
This configuration suits teams running virtualisation, cloud infrastructure or high-performance computing where 10K SAS drives are preferred. The PERC H745 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with 4 GB NV cache. Buyers who want all-flash NVMe storage or GPU-accelerated AI workloads should look at a different chassis, as this unit ships with mechanical drives and no GPU installed.
The defining specification is the front bay count: ten 2.5-inch bays populated with 600 GB 10K SAS drives on a 12 Gb/s interface. This fixes both the maximum drive quantity and the storage protocol for the server. If a project requires more than ten drives, 3.5-inch form factors or a different backplane, this 1U model will not fit.

The PERC H745 is pre-installed in the dedicated front RAID slot; the step often missed is connecting the 4GB NV cache battery cable before powering on the server.
The 10x 600GB 10K SAS drives are hot-swappable; plan to replace any drive that SMART reports as failing and rebuild the RAID array using the H745 controller.
Sustained 3.1GHz Turbo on both 28-core Xeon Gold 6330 processors will hit the 1U chassis cooling capacity first, causing the fans to ramp to maximum speed.
