Dell PowerEdge R730 2U Server

The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server equipped with dual Intel Xeon E5-2620 v3 processors running at 2.40 GHz with a 3.2 GHz turbo frequency. It provides 512 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 16 modules and includes a Dell PERC H730 storage controller with 1 GB cache. Eight 800 GB SATA SSDs populate the 2.5-inch drive bays, and redundant 750 W platinum power supplies support continuous operation.

Suited for virtualisation and database workloads

This server suits organisations deploying virtual desktop infrastructure, databases or high-performance computing data nodes that benefit from 12 total cores and 24 memory slots expandable to 1.5 TB. The quad-port network daughter card delivers dual 1 GbE and dual 10 Gb SFP+ connectivity. Buyers needing more than eight drive bays, GPU acceleration or a different storage interface should evaluate alternative platforms.

512 GB DDR4 registered ECC memory

The installed 512 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC memory across 16 slots determines capacity for memory-intensive applications. With 24 total DIMM slots, the system can scale to 1.5 TB. Confirm that your workload fits within this memory configuration or plan for additional modules before purchase.
