2U rack server with dual 14-core Xeon CPUs, 128 GB DDR4, H730 RAID controller and ten 600 GB SAS drives
Installed Memory Size 128GB
HDD 8 x 600GB 10K SAS
The DELL PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server built for midsize and large enterprise workloads such as data warehouses, e-commerce, VDI, databases and HPC data nodes. It ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2683 v3 processors, each running at 2.0 GHz with 14 cores and 3.0 GHz turbo capability. The system includes 128 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC memory across eight 16 GB modules.
Eight 2.5-inch drive bays accept SAS or SATA drives and the PERC H730 1 GB controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and pass-through modes. Two 750 W platinum hot-swap power supplies provide redundant power. Ready Rails and a front bezel are included for standard rack mounting. Buyers who need more than 24 memory slots or more than two processors cannot expand this chassis further.
Dual 14-core CPUs deliver 28 total cores for continuous parallel workloads such as virtualisation hosts and database engines. The H730 controller battery protects write cache during extended write-heavy operations. Quad-port networking with two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links maintains steady data flow. iDRAC 8 Enterprise enables remote monitoring and management without interrupting the operating system.
