2U rack server with dual 22-core Xeon processors, 256 GB DDR4 memory, eight 300 GB SAS drives and PERC H730 RAID controller
Installed Memory Size 256GB
HDD 8 x 300GB 10K SAS
The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server built for midsize and large enterprise workloads. It delivers 44 total cores across two Intel Xeon E5-2699 v4 processors running at 2.2GHz with 3.6GHz turbo. The system includes 256GB of DDR4 2400MHz registered ECC memory across eight 32GB modules. Dual 750W platinum power supplies and hot-swap drive bays support continuous operation.
This server fits environments that need dense compute and memory capacity for virtual desktop infrastructure, data warehousing or database clusters. The PERC H730 controller with 1GB cache manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across eight 300GB 10K SAS drives. Buyers who require solid-state storage or more than eight drive bays should evaluate other platforms. The quad-port network daughter card provides two 1GbE and two 10Gb SFP+ connections for flexible networking.
Two 22-core Xeon processors set the processing ceiling at 44 threads, while 24 memory slots allow expansion up to 1.5TB of DDR4. The LGA 2011-3 socket and Intel C610 chipset limit processor upgrades to the same generation. iDRAC 8 Enterprise enables remote management without an operating system. Ready rails and front bezel are included for immediate rack installation.
