The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2640 v3 processors running at 2.6 GHz with 3.4 GHz turbo. It ships with 128 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC memory across eight modules. The system includes a PERC H730 1 GB storage controller with battery backup supporting RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Eight 1.2 TB 10K SAS drives populate the 2.5-inch bays. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC 8 Enterprise provide redundancy and remote management.

Virtualisation hosts and database nodes

This server suits organisations running virtualised workloads, databases or high-performance computing tasks that benefit from 16 physical cores and a large memory footprint. The quad-port network daughter card delivers two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ connections for flexible fabric integration.
