2U rack server with dual Xeon processors

The Dell PowerEdge R730XD is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 ten-core processors running at 2.3 GHz. It ships with 64 GB of DDR4 memory installed across 24 DIMM slots. The system targets organisations that need dense compute and storage in a standard rack footprint.

Hot-plug drive bays and redundant power

Twelve 3.5-inch hot-plug bays accept SAS or SATA drives, and three 1 TB 7.2K SATA drives are included. A Dell PERC H330 RAID controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 750 W hot-swap power supplies provide redundancy, while a DVD-ROM drive handles legacy media.

Memory ceiling and PCIe 3.0 expansion

The installed 64 GB matches the processor-limited maximum of 64 GB, though the chipset supports up to 1536 GB with higher-capacity DIMMs. Six PCIe 3.0 slots plus a dedicated RAID slot allow additional networking or acceleration cards. Remote management is handled by iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller.
