2U rack server with dual Xeon processors, 16 GB DDR4, three 300 GB SAS drives and an H730 RAID controller
Installed Memory Size 16GB
HDD 3 x 300GB
The Dell PowerEdge R730XD is a 2U rack server built for storage-heavy workloads. It ships with dual Intel Xeon E5-2609 v3 six-core processors at 1.9GHz and 16GB of DDR4 memory. Three 300GB 15K SAS drives and a PERC H730 RAID controller with 1GB cache are installed. Dual 750W redundant power supplies support continuous operation.
Confirm your rack can accept a 2U chassis and that you have suitable PDU connections for two 750W supplies. The system includes a daughter card with four 1GbE ports; optional 10GbE networking requires a different NDC. Up to six PCIe 3.0 slots are available for additional cards. Memory runs at speeds supported by the installed CPUs, with 24 DIMM slots for future expansion.
The bundled PERC H730 provides hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the 24 drive bays. The three included 15K SAS drives deliver high IOPS for transactional workloads. Hot-plug trays allow drive changes without downtime. iDRAC8 Express provides remote management out of the box; Enterprise features and vFlash upgrades are optional. No operating system is included.
