2U rack server with dual Xeon E5-2630v3 processors, 64 GB DDR4, three 300 GB SAS drives and an H330 RAID controller
Installed Memory Size 64GB
HDD 3 x 300GB
The Dell PowerEdge R730XD fits two Xeon E5-2630v3 processors and 64GB of DDR4 in a 2U chassis with 24 hot-plug 2.5-inch drive bays. It targets organisations that need high storage density and redundant 750W power supplies for virtualised workloads or database clusters. The H330 RAID controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60 across SAS or SATA drives.
The unit measures 26.8 inches deep, so confirm your cabinet can accommodate that length with cable clearance. Ensure the four onboard 1GbE ports meet your connectivity requirements, as 10GbE daughter cards are optional and not included. Check that your existing SAS cabling matches the H330 controller and that you have 24 DIMM slots available if you plan to expand memory beyond the installed 64GB.
Dual 750W hot-swap supplies maintain operation if one unit fails during continuous duty. The three 300GB 15K SAS spindles deliver consistent IOPS for mixed read/write streams, while the H330 controller manages parity rebuilds without a dedicated cache battery. Six PCIe 3.0 slots remain free for additional NICs or HBAs if throughput demands grow over time.

Trays are included with the three installed 300 GB SAS drives; empty bays do not come with trays so you will need to purchase them for any additional 2.5" SAS or SATA drives you add.
The H330 12 Gbps RAID controller supports RAID 0/1/5/10/50/60 and is already matched to the three 300 GB 15 K SAS drives, so no different controller is needed for this configuration.
Two eight-core Xeon E5-2630v3 processors at 2.4 GHz provide 32 threads via hyper-threading, giving strong multi-threaded throughput for virtualisation, databases and compute-heavy tasks within the 64 GB DDR4 memory limit.
