2U rack server with two 6-core Xeon E5-2620 v3 processors at 2.4 GHz, 512 GB DDR4 ECC memory, PERC H730 RAID controller, 24-bay 2.5" SAS storage, dual 10 GbE SFP+ and dual 1 GbE ports.
Installed Memory Size 512GB
HDD 2 x 300GB 10K SAS
The Dell PowerEdge R730xd packs 24 front-accessible 2.5-inch drive bays into a 2U rack chassis. Dual Xeon E5-2620 v3 processors provide 12 cores at 2.4 GHz with 3.2 GHz turbo. 512 GB of DDR4 ECC memory fills 16 of 24 slots. A PERC H730 controller manages SAS and SATA drives with hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60.
Organisations running virtual desktop infrastructure, data warehouses or HPC data nodes benefit from the high drive count and large memory capacity. Quad-port networking with dual 1 GbE and dual 10 Gb SFP+ links handles east-west traffic. Buyers who need more than two sockets, GPU acceleration or single-thread speeds above 3.2 GHz should evaluate other platforms.
The chassis accepts up to 24 hot-swap SAS or SATA drives, so the maximum raw capacity is bound by the number and size of drives installed. Two 300 GB 10K SAS drives ship with the system. The PERC H730 supports mixed RAID levels across the backplane. Confirm your dataset fits within 24 bays before ordering.

Other versions of this model
The server ships with 512 GB across 16 modules of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC, leaving 8 of the 24 slots free for future expansion up to 1.5 TB total.
The H730 supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with its 1 GB cache and battery, so the existing SAS pair can run RAID 1 and additional SATA drives can be added to separate arrays.
Connect the dedicated iDRAC network port, set a static IP or use DHCP, then browse to that address — the login screen confirms the enterprise licence is active.
