2U rack server with dual 6-core Xeon processors at 2.4 GHz, 64 GB DDR4 ECC memory, PERC H730 RAID controller, two 400 GB SATA SSDs, quad-port 1/10 GbE networking, iDRAC8 Enterprise.
The Dell PowerEdge R730xd is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Xeon E5-2620 v3 processors, each running at 2.4 GHz with six cores and a 3.2 GHz turbo frequency. It targets midsize to large enterprises that need dense storage and compute for virtualisation, databases or high-performance computing nodes.
The chassis holds 24 hot-swap 2.5-inch SATA drives, providing extensive internal capacity for mixed workloads. Two 400 GB SATA SSDs are installed and managed by the PERC H730 1 GB controller, which supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through. Memory scales to 1.5 TB across 24 DDR4 slots, with 64 GB of registered ECC DDR4-2133 populated in four 16 GB modules.
A quad-port network daughter card delivers two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links for flexible fabric connectivity. Dual 750 W platinum hot-swap power supplies provide redundancy, while iDRAC8 Enterprise enables full out-of-band management. Ready rails and a front bezel are included for straightforward rack mounting.

Other versions of this model
The server uses two LGA 2011-3 sockets and 24 DDR4 slots running at 2133 MHz, so compatible processors and registered ECC modules can be added up to the 1.5 TB maximum.
Use the iDRAC 8 Enterprise interface to check controller firmware, RAID status, and drive health; the H730 battery-backed cache and the SSD SMART data will confirm normal operation.
The unit includes two Xeon E5-2620 v3 CPUs, 64 GB DDR4 (four 16 GB modules), two 400 GB SATA SSDs, H730 controller, X520/I350 quad-port NIC, iDRAC 8 Enterprise, two 750 W PSUs, rails and bezel; additional drives or memory are not included.
