A 2U rack server with dual 16-core Xeon processors at 2.1GHz, 768GB DDR4 ECC memory, PERC H730 RAID controller, and 24-bay 2.5-inch SAS storage for dense virtualisation and database workloads
Installed Memory Size 768GB
HDD 2 x 300GB 10K SAS
This 2U rack server ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2683 v4 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with 16 cores. The system includes 768 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 24 slots and a PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache. It is built for virtualization, database and high-performance computing workloads in midsize to large enterprises.
The 24-bay 2.5-inch chassis supports SAS and SATA drives with hot-swap capability, while dual 750 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC 8 Enterprise provide redundancy and remote management. Buyers who need more than two processors, more than 1.5 TB of memory or a different drive interface should evaluate other platforms because the board is limited to two sockets and the backplane is SAS/SATA only.
The chassis holds up to 24 small-form-factor drives on a 12 Gb/s SAS backplane connected to the H730 RAID controller. This capacity and interface combination determines whether the server fits a given storage topology.

Other versions of this model
The server includes Ready Rails that fit a standard four-post rack; you must supply the rack and reserve a 2U opening with enough depth and airflow for the dual 750 W power supplies.
Yes, the H730 supports both SAS and SATA drives, so existing SATA disks can be added to the 24-bay chassis and configured in RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 or pass-through mode.
During POST the BIOS reports total memory and per-DIMM status; iDRAC 8 Enterprise then shows each of the 24 slots with capacity, speed (2400 MHz) and any correctable or uncorrectable errors in its System > Memory inventory.
