2U rack server with dual 22-core Xeon processors at 2.2 GHz, 128 GB DDR4 ECC memory, H730 RAID controller, two 400 GB SATA SSDs, quad-port 1 GbE and 10 GbE networking, iDRAC8 Enterprise.
The PowerEdge R730xd packs two Intel Xeon E5-2699 v4 processors, each running at 2.2 GHz with 22 cores and a 3.6 GHz turbo frequency. Forty-four total cores and 128 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory give midsize and large enterprises the parallel throughput needed for data warehouses, virtual desktop infrastructure and high-performance computing nodes.
All forty-four cores share a 2.2 GHz base clock, so heavy database or HPC workloads maintain consistent frequency without relying on short turbo bursts. The PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache backs RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, keeping write latency steady during long sequential streams. Dual 10 Gb SFP+ ports on the X520/I350 daughter card feed data to the CPUs without saturating the interconnect.
Two hot-swap 750 W Platinum-efficiency supplies deliver redundant power while the 2U chassis draws cool air front-to-rear under automatic fan curves managed by iDRAC 8 Enterprise. The integrated remote-management card provides out-of-band console, power cycling and health monitoring so administrators can respond to thermal events without physical access.

Other versions of this model
Two 750 W platinum-efficiency supplies share the load redundantly; actual draw depends on workload but the chassis is rated for 750 W per supply.
The card provides two SFP+ cages; you must supply compatible SFP+ transceivers or direct-attach cables and a 10 Gb switch.
The H730 supports 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA, so your 12 Gb SAS drives will connect directly to the same backplane.
