5U rack server with dual 14-core Xeon processors at 2.0 GHz, 128 GB DDR4, H730P controller, sixteen 2.5-inch drive bays, and redundant 750 W power supplies
The Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 5U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2660 v4 processors. Each CPU runs at 2.0 GHz with a 3.2 GHz turbo frequency and provides 14 cores. The system ships with 128 GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across eight modules. A PERC H730P 2 GB RAID controller manages up to sixteen 2.5-inch drive bays. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies deliver redundant hot-swap power.
This configuration suits organisations running VMware ESXi, Hyper-V or Proxmox clusters that need dense local storage and dual-socket compute. The 16-bay chassis supports SAS, SATA and SSD media for mixed workloads. Buyers who require more than 384 GB of memory or more than two installed processors should evaluate larger platforms. The integrated dual-port Gigabit adapter may limit bandwidth-heavy storage replication without an additional NIC.
The installed Dell PERC H730P provides 2 GB of cache and a battery-backed write-back cache. It supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus JBOD pass-through mode. The controller connects to the 16 front-accessible 2.5-inch trays through 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA lanes. This single component determines the RAID levels, drive types and maximum array count available to the operating system.

The front bezel and ready rails are not included with this server. A separate rack conversion kit is required for rack deployment.
Populate CPU1 first, then CPU2. Install the eight 16GB DDR4-2400 ECC Registered modules evenly across the twelve slots following the balanced channel guide in the service manual.
The battery typically lasts three to five years. iDRAC 8 Express will report a battery health warning when replacement is needed to maintain cache backup.
