A 5U rack server with dual 14-core Xeon processors at 2.0 GHz, 16 GB DDR4, an H730P RAID controller, eight 2.5-inch drive trays and dual 750 W power supplies
The Dell PowerEdge T430 arrives as a 5U rack system with two Intel Xeon E5-2660 v4 processors installed. Each CPU runs at 2.0 GHz with a 3.2 GHz turbo and provides 14 cores for multi-threaded workloads. The platform targets virtualization hosts, database nodes and file-serving roles that benefit from dual-socket density.
Eight 2.5-inch drive trays are supplied but front bezel and ready rails are not, so rack mounting hardware must be sourced separately. The PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache supports RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 and pass-through; configure the array in the controller BIOS before installing an OS. Memory slots use DDR4-2400 ECC registered DIMMs — only that generation fits.
Two 750 W platinum hot-swap supplies provide redundant power; verify your PDU cables and voltage match. Onboard dual-port Gigabit Ethernet handles baseline connectivity; additional NICs or HBAs require free PCIe slots. Maximum memory capacity is 384 GB across 12 slots, so plan DIMM population if you need more than the installed 16 GB.

During POST the controller BIOS will display its firmware version and list the 2GB cache; iDRAC 8 Express will then show the controller health as OK and report the battery status.
The server ships with two Xeon E5-2660 v4 processors, 16GB DDR4-2400 ECC RDIMM in two slots, the H730P controller, eight 2.5-inch drive trays, dual 750W platinum power supplies, dual-port gigabit Ethernet and iDRAC 8 Express; drives, front bezel, rack rails and additional memory are not included.
The board supports up to 384GB across 12 DDR4 slots; populate in matched pairs per processor for best performance, starting with the installed 16GB and adding identical RDIMM modules as workload demands grow.
