Mobile workstation for entry-level CAD

The Dell Precision 3560 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation powered by an Intel Core i5-1145G7 quad-core processor with a 4.40 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD running Windows 10 Pro. A dedicated NVIDIA T500 graphics card with 2 GB of video memory handles certified professional applications.

Suits engineers needing certified drivers

This configuration suits engineers and designers who require ISV-certified drivers for 2D CAD, BIM or light 3D modelling while travelling. The 1366 x 768 HD non-touch panel limits visible workspace and colour accuracy, so creative professionals grading video or editing high-resolution images should look at higher-resolution alternatives.

1366 x 768 display resolution decides fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the 1366 x 768 native resolution. It provides enough pixel density for toolbars and wireframes but cannot display full 1080p content without scaling. Buyers who need more on-screen real estate for complex assemblies or multi-window workflows will find this panel restrictive.

Questions about this item

How does the 4.4 GHz turbo frequency behave when the i5-1145G7 is inside this 15.6" chassis?

The quad-core processor reaches 4.4 GHz on short bursts; sustained speeds depend on the thermal design of the Precision 3560 body.

What external displays can the HDMI 2.0 port actually drive?

HDMI 2.0 supports up to 4K at 60 Hz, so most modern monitors run at their native resolution and refresh rate.

Will the 14.09" width fit in a standard 15" laptop sleeve?

At 14.09 inches wide and 0.56 inches thick at the rear, it fits most sleeves labelled for 15-inch devices.
