Dell Precision 3561 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 3561 is a 15.6 inch laptop built around an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-11850H running at 2.50GHz. It ships with 32GB of memory and a 512GB SSD, plus a discrete NVIDIA T600 GPU. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed on the silver chassis.

Upgrade from integrated graphics

The T600 adds dedicated graphics memory for CAD, 3D modelling and GPU-accelerated applications where integrated graphics fall short. Moving from a previous Precision without discrete GPU or from a consumer ultrabook makes sense when ISV-certified drivers and the 1920x1080 non-touch display are required for professional workflows.

Suits engineers and designers needing certified

Buyers who want more storage than 512GB or a higher resolution panel should look at other configurations. The non-touch 1080p screen and fixed 32GB memory also mean this unit does not fit users who need touch input or user-upgradable RAM.

Questions about this item

What screw pattern and panel size does the 15.6 inch chassis use for SSD or memory upgrades?

The Precision 3561 uses a standard bottom-cover screw layout; remove the nine perimeter screws, lift the cover, and the 512 GB SSD sits in an M.2 slot while the 32 GB memory occupies two SODIMM sockets.

Which driver must be installed first after a clean Windows 10 Pro load so the NVIDIA T600 works correctly?

Install the Intel 11th Gen chipset driver before the NVIDIA T600 driver; skipping this order leaves the discrete GPU hidden in Device Manager.

When will the 512 GB SSD likely need replacement under typical CAD workloads?

The 512 GB drive is rated for several hundred terabytes written; expect five to seven years before wear-level indicators suggest a swap.
