Mobile workstation for professionals

The Dell Precision 3570 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built for engineers and designers who need certified application stability. It runs a 12th Generation Intel Core i5-1250P vPro processor with 12 MB cache, 4+8 cores, 16 threads and a 28 W base power. Integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics handles visual workloads without a discrete GPU. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Installation and service limits

The chassis uses a serviceable design but memory and storage upgrades require removing the bottom cover and disconnecting the battery first. Only two SODIMM slots exist, so expanding beyond 16 GB DDR4 means replacing modules rather than adding. The single M.2 slot supports PCIe NVMe SSDs; adding a second drive is not possible. Thunderbolt 4 ports need certified cables for full 40 Gb/s throughput.

Display and connectivity constraints

The 15.6-inch FHD panel covers 45% NTSC at 250 nits and 60 Hz, which limits colour-critical work and outdoor visibility. HDMI 2.0 output caps external 4K displays at 60 Hz. Thunderbolt 4 supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and Power Delivery for docks and monitors. Wi-Fi 6E AX211 operates on 2x2 802.11ax. The 720p webcam runs at 30 fps.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the Intel Core i5-1250P is running at its 4.40 GHz maximum turbo after setup?

Open Task Manager's Performance tab and watch the CPU frequency under load; the 12th Generation processor with 16 threads should reach 4.40 GHz on its performance cores.

Does the box include a USB-C power adapter for the two Thunderbolt 4 ports or must I buy one separately?

The laptop ships with its own barrel-type AC adapter; the Thunderbolt 4 ports support Power Delivery for docks or monitors but the original charger uses the dedicated DC jack.

Should I choose the 16 GB DDR4 3200MHz configuration or look for a 32 GB version for the Precision 3570?

This unit comes with 16 GB soldered DDR4 at 3200 MHz; if your workflows need more memory, confirm the specific SKU supports SO-DIMM upgrades before purchasing.
