Precision 3650 workstation with 128 GB DDR4

The Dell Precision 3650 is a mid-tower workstation built for professionals who need reliable performance in CAD, 3D modelling, engineering and financial analysis. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and includes a 500 GB NVMe SSD for fast boot and project loading. The system targets users who want workstation-class stability without a full-size rack chassis.

Sustained load on i7-10700 and Quadro P620

An 8-core Intel Core i7-10700 runs at 2.9 GHz base with a 4.8 GHz turbo, backed by 128 GB of DDR4 2933 memory in a four-module configuration. The Nvidia Quadro P620 adds 2 GB GDDR5 on a 128-bit bus with four mini-DisplayPort 1.4 outputs for multi-monitor setups. A 460 W 80PLUS Gold power supply delivers steady output during long rendering or simulation sessions.

Mid-tower installation and common pitfalls

The mid-tower chassis uses standard LGA 1200 socket layout and unbuffered DDR4 slots, so memory and CPU swaps follow familiar desktop steps. Integrated Intel I219-LM Gigabit Ethernet and Realtek ALC3246 audio need no extra cards for typical office networks. Buyers who want more storage bays or a second graphics card will find internal space limited by the mid-tower form factor.

Questions about this item

How much heat and noise does the 460 W 80PLUS Gold power supply produce when the i7-10700 runs at 4.8 GHz all day?

The 460 W 80PLUS Gold unit is rated for high efficiency, which reduces waste heat, but Dell does not publish acoustic or thermal figures for sustained 4.8 GHz loads.

Which display cables or adapters do I need to connect monitors to the Quadro P620 2 GB card?

The card provides four Mini DisplayPort 1.4 outputs; you must supply Mini DisplayPort cables or active adapters for HDMI, DisplayPort or DVI screens.

Will my existing DDR4 2933 modules work alongside the four 32 GB sticks already installed?

The board has four slots and all are populated with 32 GB DDR4 2933 modules, so there is no free slot for additional memory.
