Professional workstation for CAD and engineering

The Dell Precision 3650 Mid-Tower desktop PC is built for professionals who run CAD design, 3D modelling and engineering applications daily. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and an Intel Core i7-11700K 8-core processor reaching 5.0GHz turbo. The 128GB DDR4 3200MHz memory and 500GB NVMe SSD provide capacity for large datasets and fast project loading.

Sustained performance with workstation-class cooling

The 460W 80PLUS Gold power supply supports the i7-11700K and Quadro P620 2GB GDDR5 graphics card under continuous multi-threaded workloads. Four mDP 1.4 outputs drive multiple displays for financial analysis or content creation. Integrated Intel I219-LM Gigabit Ethernet and Realtek ALC3246 audio maintain connectivity and sound during long render sessions without thermal throttling.

Standard mid-tower installation

The mid-tower chassis uses industry-standard LGA 1200 socket and DDR4 slots for straightforward component access. Maximum memory is capped at 128GB, so buyers who want more storage or memory expansion beyond the four populated slots cannot upgrade further. No monitor is included, and the single 500GB NVMe drive may require additional drives for large project archives.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the 460W 80PLUS Gold power supply run when the i7-11700K hits 5.0GHz turbo all day?

Dell's Precision thermal design uses a controlled fan curve; the Gold-rated 460W supply runs efficiently under sustained loads.

Which display cables or adapters must I already own to use the Quadro P620's four mDP 1.4 ports?

The card provides four Mini DisplayPort 1.4 outputs; you need mDP-to-DP or mDP-to-HDMI cables for each monitor.

Can I keep my existing DDR4 3200 modules and add them to the four 32GB sticks already installed?

All four slots are filled with 32GB DDR4 3200 modules; maximum capacity of 128GB is reached, so no further memory can be added.
