Precision 3650 mid-tower workstation

This new Dell Precision 3650 mid-tower workstation targets professionals who need a ready-to-run Windows 11 Pro system for CAD design, 3D modelling, engineering analysis and content creation. It ships with an 8-core Intel Core i7-11700K processor reaching 5.0 GHz turbo, 64 GB of DDR4-3200 memory in a four-module configuration, a 4 TB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive and an Nvidia Quadro P1000 graphics card with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory.

Suits entry workstation workloads

The specification suits engineers, designers and analysts who rely on certified drivers for professional applications and value the stability of ECC-capable DDR4 architecture expandable to 128 GB. Buyers who require more than four display outputs, need higher GPU memory than 4 GB GDDR5 or want a chassis with greater internal expansion space should consider other form factors.

Quadro P1000 4 GB GDDR5 graphics

The single specification that decides fit is the Nvidia Quadro P1000 card with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory on a 128-bit bus driving four mini-DisplayPort 1.4 connectors. This GPU tier covers typical 2D and light 3D professional workflows but will limit users running large assemblies, complex rendering or multi-monitor setups that demand greater frame-buffer capacity.

Questions about this item

Does the Precision 3650 include a keyboard and mouse, or must I buy them separately?

The system ships as the tower only; no keyboard or mouse are included, so you will need to provide your own input devices.

Is the installed 64 GB of DDR4 3200 the maximum, or can I add more later?

The motherboard supports up to 128 GB, so the current 64 GB (4 × 16 GB) can be expanded by adding or replacing modules.

Will the Quadro P1000 4 GB with four mini-DisplayPort 1.4 outputs drive two 4K monitors at 60 Hz for CAD work?

Yes, the P1000 supports up to four 4K displays at 60 Hz via its four mDP 1.4 connectors, making dual 4K CAD setups straightforward.
