Workstation for CAD and 3D modelling

The Dell Precision 3650 mid-tower workstation targets engineers, designers and analysts who need reliable performance for professional applications. Its Intel Core i7-10700 processor with eight cores and 16 GB of DDR4 memory handles multitasking and complex datasets in CAD, 3D modelling and financial software. Windows 11 Pro provides the operating environment.

Suits single-GPU workflows, not multi-GPU

This system suits buyers who need a certified professional graphics card with four mini-DisplayPort 1.4 outputs for multi-monitor setups. It is not for users who require multiple high-end GPUs, larger video memory than 4 GB GDDR5, or error-correcting code memory for mission-critical stability. The 460 W power supply limits further graphics expansion.

Quadro P1000 with 4 GB GDDR5 decides fit

The Nvidia Quadro P1000 4 GB GDDR5 graphics card is the specification that determines suitability. Its 4 GB frame buffer and four mini-DisplayPort 1.4 connectors support professional viewports and up to four displays. Buyers needing more video memory or different display interfaces must choose a different configuration.

Questions about this item

How often should the 460 W 80PLUS Gold power supply be checked or replaced?

A quality Gold-rated supply typically runs for many years; plan to inspect it if the system restarts unexpectedly or the fan becomes noisy.

What component hits its limit first when the Core i7-10700 sustains 4.8 GHz Turbo across all 8 cores?

The CPU will throttle once its thermal ceiling is reached, so sustained all-core Turbo depends on case airflow and cooler capacity.

How loud does the chassis get when the Quadro P1000 and i7-10700 run flat-out all day?

Expect a noticeable but office-tolerable hum; the mid-tower chassis and Gold-rated PSU fan keep noise moderate under continuous load.
