Professional workstation for CAD

The Dell Precision 3650 Mid Tower delivers workstation-class performance for engineers, designers and analysts. An Intel Core i7-11700K 8-core processor reaches 5.0GHz turbo while 32GB of DDR4 3200MHz memory handles large datasets. A 500GB NVMe SSD and Windows 11 Pro complete a platform built for daily production tasks.

Integrated graphics and expandable memory

Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 provides dual DisplayPort outputs for multi-monitor setups without a discrete card. Four occupied DIMM slots leave room to grow toward the 128GB maximum using DDR4 ECC modules for error correction. The 460W 80PLUS Gold power supply supports additional storage or expansion cards within the mid-tower chassis.

Verify CPU cooler clearance and PCIe slot needs

Buyers who need a dedicated GPU for rendering or GPU-accelerated compute must confirm physical space and power connectors inside the case. The LGA 1200 socket limits future processor upgrades to 11th generation Intel Core or Xeon W-1300 series chips. Users requiring more than 500GB of fast storage should plan for additional M.2 or 2.5-inch drives.

Questions about this item

Will the 460 W 80PLUS Gold power supply need replacement if I add a discrete graphics card later?

The 460 W 80PLUS Gold unit powers the current i7-11700K and integrated Intel UHD 630 graphics; adding a discrete GPU may exceed its capacity and require a higher-wattage supply.

What limit appears first when the i7-11700K runs at 5.0 GHz turbo across all 8 cores for extended periods?

The 460 W power supply and mid-tower cooling set the practical ceiling; sustained all-core turbo will hit power or thermal limits before the CPU itself throttles.

How loud and hot does the Dell 460 W Gold supply get when the workstation runs all day under load?

The 80PLUS Gold supply runs efficiently, but the mid-tower chassis with stock fans will produce audible airflow and noticeable exhaust heat during continuous heavy workloads.
