Precision 5510 mobile workstation

The Precision 5510 is a 15.6 inch mobile workstation built around a quad-core Intel Core i7 6820HQ running at 2.7GHz. It ships with 16GB of memory and a 256GB solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed. The non-touch FHD panel shows 1920 x 1080 resolution. An NVIDIA M1200M graphics card with 4GB dedicated memory handles visual workloads.

Windows 10 Pro and input features

A genuine Windows 10 Pro licence is included, removing the need for a separate operating-system purchase. The backlit keyboard aids typing in low light. An integrated webcam supports video calls. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are both present for wireless connectivity. These items are ready to use without extra configuration.

802.11b/g/n wireless and 90-day coverage

Wireless networking uses the 802.11b/g/n standard, which limits throughput on modern high-speed networks. The chassis measures 14.1 x 9.3 x .7 inches and weighs 4.41 lbs. Supplier warranty covers 90 days. Buyers who need faster Wi-Fi protocols or longer protection periods should verify compatibility before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the 256 GB SSD need to be replaced for more capacity later?

The 256 GB SSD is the only internal storage fitted. If you need additional space you can add an external drive or replace the internal unit with a larger one.

What thermal limit appears first when the i7-6820HQ runs at full load for long periods?

The quad-core i7-6820HQ will hit its thermal throttle point before the NVIDIA M1200M 4G GPU does, so CPU clock speeds drop first under sustained heavy work.

How loud and hot does the 15.6 inch chassis get during an all-day render?

The thin .7 inch profile forces the fans to spin up audibly and the keyboard deck becomes warm to the touch after several hours of continuous load.
