Precision 5530 UHD workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6 inch mobile workstation with a 3840 x 2160 touch display. It runs an Intel Core i7-8850H six-core processor at 2.60 GHz with turbo up to 4.30 GHz. NVIDIA Quadro P1000 graphics with 4GB GDDR5 handle professional 3D and CAD workloads. The system ships with 16GB DDR4 RAM and dual storage totalling 3TB.

Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 limits

Thunderbolt 3 provides x4 PCIe lanes for external GPUs or high-speed storage, but total bandwidth is shared with other Type-C traffic. HDMI 2.0 output supports 4K at 60 Hz, yet cannot drive higher refresh rates at that resolution. The 72% colour gamut panel suits general design work, though wide-gamut workflows will need an external calibrated monitor. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are integrated for wireless connectivity.

Factory-ready installation

Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed with drivers for the Quadro P1000, touchscreen and Thunderbolt controller. The AC adapter is included so the unit powers on immediately. Thunderbolt devices may require a firmware update or BIOS toggle before they enumerate correctly. The slim chassis uses dual fans; sustained heavy loads can trigger thermal throttling if vents are obstructed.
