Mobile workstation with UHD touch display

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around a 3840 x 2160 UHD IPS touchscreen. It runs on an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8850H six-core processor clocked at 2.60 GHz with a 4.30 GHz turbo boost. The system includes 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and a 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD, driven by Windows 10 Pro.

Suited for colour-critical creative work.

The 72% colour gamut panel and dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P1000 with 4 GB GDDR5 suit designers and engineers who need accurate touch input and certified drivers. Thunderbolt 3, HDMI 2.0 and two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports handle peripheral connectivity. Buyers who want more storage or a second graphics card should look at larger chassis workstations.

Dual-fan cooling sustains hexa-core clocks under

The dual-fan thermal design maintains airflow across the CPU and GPU during extended render or simulation sessions. This helps the six-core processor hold higher frequencies longer than thinner ultraportables without active cooling. Surface temperatures rise under continuous load, so a hard flat surface is recommended for demanding projects.

Questions about this item

Does this laptop need any extra parts to start working?

No, the Dell AC adapter is included so the Precision 5530 runs out of the box.

Can I keep using my older USB 3.1 Gen 1 devices with the two ports on this machine?

Yes, both USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports are backward-compatible with earlier USB peripherals.

How do I confirm the UHD touch panel is running at its native 3840 x 2160 resolution after setup?

Open Windows Display settings and verify the resolution shows 3840 x 2160; the IPS panel will then be at its full sharpness.
