Precision 5530 UHD Touch Workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation with a 3840 x 2160 IPS touchscreen, an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8850H six-core processor, 32 GB DDR4 memory and a 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and includes a Dell AC adapter. The NVIDIA Quadro P1000 provides 4 GB GDDR5 dedicated graphics.

Suits professionals needing colour-accurate touch

The 72% colour-gamut panel and multi-touch InfinityEdge display serve designers and engineers who work on colour-critical projects away from a desk. Thunderbolt 3, HDMI 2.0 and two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports cover dock and monitor needs. Buyers who want more storage or a second GPU should look at larger chassis options.

512 GB SSD and 32 GB RAM handle large assemblies

The PCIe NVMe drive and 32 GB DDR4 give headroom for big CAD models, multi-layer timelines and virtual-machine workloads. The Quadro P1000 4 GB GDDR5 manages viewport navigation and GPU-accelerated plugins. Very large point-cloud datasets or multi-GPU render farms exceed the single-card, 4 GB video-memory limit.

Questions about this item

Does the laptop need any external power brick, or is the Dell AC adapter included in the box?

The Dell AC adapter is included, so the Precision 5530 can be powered and charged straight away without buying a separate brick.

Can I keep using my existing USB 3.1 Gen 1 peripherals with the two Type-A ports on this workstation?

Yes, the two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports are backward compatible, so current USB-A mice, drives and docks will work at their rated speeds.

How can I verify the 3840 x 2160 touch panel is running at its native resolution after Windows 11 Pro setup?

Open Settings > System > Display and confirm the resolution shows 3840 x 2160 (Recommended); the touch test in Calibrate will also register input across the full 15.6" panel.
