Precision mobile workstation for creators

The Dell Precision 5530 pairs a 15.6 inch 3840 x 2160 UHD touch panel with an 8th Gen Intel Core i9-8950HK six-core processor and dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P2000 4GB GDDR5 graphics. It targets engineers, designers and video editors who need colour-accurate visuals and certified driver stability in a thin silver chassis.

Straightforward deployment with one memory limit

Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed so the system boots to a ready desktop. The 2TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD and 8GB DDR4 RAM are already seated; Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 ports connect docks or external displays without adapters. The soldered memory ceiling of 32 GB means future upgrades require a new module rather than an empty slot.

Verify power and port needs before purchase

Confirm your workflow can operate within the 8 GB factory memory and that any external GPU or high-speed storage you plan to add uses the single Thunderbolt 3 lane. Buyers who want more storage bays, a second graphics card or user-replaceable RAM should consider a larger chassis.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the 3840 x 2160 touchscreen is performing correctly after setup?

Open Windows Display Settings to confirm the native 3840 x 2160 resolution is active, then test multi-touch gestures such as pinch-to-zoom and two-finger scroll on the 15.6" IPS panel.

What ships with the workstation and what must I source separately?

The unit includes the Precision 5530 with 2 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD, 8 GB DDR4 RAM, NVIDIA Quadro P2000 4 GB GDDR5 graphics, Windows 11 Pro, and a Dell AC adapter. No other accessories are included.

Which memory and storage configuration suits my workload?

The installed 8 GB DDR4 supports everyday CAD and rendering; the single 2 TB NVMe M.2 drive provides fast project storage. If you need more RAM, the platform accepts up to 32 GB DDR4 via its two SO-DIMM slots.
