Precision 5530 mobile workstation

The Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around an 8th Gen Intel six-core i7-8850H processor. It carries 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. A dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P1000 with 4 GB of GDDR5 video memory handles professional graphics workloads. The system ships with Windows 10 Pro installed.

InfinityEdge UHD touch display and I/O

The 3840 x 2160 IPS touch panel covers 72 percent colour gamut and is framed by narrow InfinityEdge bezels. Connectivity includes two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one Thunderbolt 3 port with four lanes of PCIe, an HDMI 2.0 output and a combined headphone/microphone jack. A Dell AC adapter is included in the box.

Step up from entry mobile workstations

This configuration replaces lower-spec models that offer dual-core CPUs, 8 GB or 16 GB of memory and integrated graphics. The hexa-core processor, 32 GB of RAM and certified Quadro driver stack make the jump worthwhile for CAD, 3D modelling and multi-application workflows that exceed the capacity of mainstream ultraportables. Buyers who need more than 256 GB of fast storage or a higher-wattage GPU should look at larger chassis options.
