Precision 5530 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch UHD touch mobile workstation built for professionals who need certified graphics and multi-core processing in a thin chassis. It ships new with Windows 10 Pro, an Intel Core i7-8850H six-core processor, 32 GB DDR4 memory, and a combined 512 GB M.2 plus 2 TB SSD storage array. The NVIDIA Quadro P1000 with 4 GB GDDR5 drives the 3840 x 2160 IPS panel.

Sustained thermal performance

Dual fans move air across the CPU and GPU to keep clocks stable during long render or simulation sessions. The hexa-core i7-8850H runs at 2.60 GHz base and can reach 4.30 GHz with Turbo Boost when thermal headroom allows. Professional drivers for the Quadro P1000 maintain consistent frame rates in ISV-certified applications rather than peaking for short bursts.

Thunderbolt 3 and display limits

A single Thunderbolt 3 port provides x4 PCIe bandwidth for external GPUs or high-speed storage, while HDMI 2.0 drives one external 4K display at 60 Hz. Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports handle peripherals without sharing the Thunderbolt controller. The 72 % colour-gamut panel covers standard sRGB workflows but does not reach wide-gamut targets for colour-critical grading.
