Mobile workstation for creators

The Dell Precision 5530 pairs a six-core Intel Core i7-8850H processor with a dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P1000 graphics card carrying 4GB GDDR5 memory. A 15.6-inch UHD IPS touchscreen at 3840 x 2160 resolution covers 72% color gamut for accurate visual work. Windows 11 Pro ships pre-installed on the 128GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD with 8GB DDR4 RAM.

Sustained performance under load

Dual fans maintain airflow during extended rendering or simulation sessions so the hexa-core CPU can hold higher clocks longer. The Quadro P1000 drives professional 3D and CAD applications without throttling in typical project workloads. 8GB DDR4 memory and the NVMe SSD keep data moving for multitasking across large assemblies.

Connectivity built for the desk

Thunderbolt 3 with x4 PCIe lanes, HDMI 2.0 and two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports let you attach high-speed storage, external GPUs and dual 4K displays from a single cable. The headphone/microphone combo jack handles calls without dongles. A Dell AC adapter is included for immediate power.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the Dell Precision 5530 get when the i7-8850H and Quadro P1000 run flat-out all day?

The chassis uses dual fans to move air over the six-core i7-8850H and the 4 GB GDDR5 Quadro P1000, keeping thermals in check during sustained workloads.

Which cables or docks must I already own to drive the 3840 x 2160 touch panel and peripherals?

You need a Thunderbolt 3 cable or dock for the single TB3 port, an HDMI 2.0 lead for the external 4K output, and USB 3.1 Gen 1 devices for the two Type-A sockets.

Will my older SATA SSD work alongside the factory 128 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 drive?

The spec sheet lists only the M.2 NVMe slot; no 2.5-inch SATA bay is mentioned, so a legacy SATA drive cannot be installed internally.
