Mobile Workstation 15.6 FHD

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation with a 1920 x 1080 IPS display. It runs on a 6-core Intel Core i7-8850H processor and includes 8 GB DDR4 RAM with a 128 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. Professional graphics are handled by an NVIDIA Quadro P1000 with 4 GB GDDR5 memory.

Suited For ISV Certification Work

This configuration suits engineers and designers running certified professional applications that rely on Quadro drivers. The 128 GB SSD and 8 GB RAM will limit users handling large assemblies, heavy datasets or virtual machines. Buyers needing more storage or memory should look at higher-capacity configurations.

Quadro P1000 4 GB GDDR5 GPU

The dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P1000 with 4 GB GDDR5 is the specification that decides suitability. It provides certified driver support for professional 3D and CAD workflows that integrated graphics cannot deliver. If your software requires a higher VRAM allocation or a newer GPU architecture, this workstation will not meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and do I need to buy anything else to start working?

The laptop ships with the Dell AC adapter and Windows 11 Pro installed. The 128 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD and 8 GB DDR4 RAM are already fitted, so no extra parts are required for basic use.

Should I choose the 128 GB SSD or one of the larger 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB options?

Pick 128 GB if you keep projects in the cloud or on external drives; choose 256 GB or 512 GB for local datasets and multiple VMs; select 1 TB only if you need the entire media library on board.

What does the 4.30 GHz Turbo Boost figure mean when I am rendering in SolidWorks?

The i7-8850H can lift two cores to 4.30 GHz for short bursts, giving snappy viewport interaction, while the Quadro P1000 with 4 GB GDDR5 handles the sustained GPU workload.
