Mobile workstation for creators

The Dell Precision 5560 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built for creative professionals who need accurate colour and touch input on the move. An 8-core Intel Core i7-11850H processor reaches 4.8 GHz turbo frequency for demanding applications. The 3840 x 2400 UHD touchscreen covers the display surface. Windows 11 Pro is preinstalled.

T1200 GPU and storage limits

A dedicated Nvidia T1200 graphics card with 4 GB GDDR6 memory accelerates viewport rendering and GPU compute tasks. The 32 GB solid-state drive holds the operating system and a small project cache, so external storage is essential for media libraries. 4 GB of system memory restricts multitasking with large datasets or virtual machines.

Thin chassis with limited upgrade access

The wedge-shaped chassis measures 0.30 inches at the front and 0.56 inches at the rear, weighing 4.06 lbs. Memory and storage are not user-accessible, so the configuration must be final at purchase. Ports include USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with DisplayPort, a full-sized SD card reader and a universal audio jack.

Questions about this item

How much can the 32 GB SSD be expanded before I run out of internal slots?

The Precision 5560 ships with a 32 GB SSD and one M.2 slot occupied; adding a larger drive requires replacing the original module.

Which component hits its thermal ceiling first when all eight cores hold 4.8 GHz on the i7-11850H?

The CPU package reaches its thermal limit before the NVIDIA T1200 GPU, causing the firmware to reduce clock speeds under prolonged heavy loads.

How loud do the fans get when the 4 GB GDDR6 T1200 and i7-11850H run flat-out for hours?

Under sustained maximum load the dual-fan cooler spins up to an audible but not intrusive level; surface temperatures stay within Dell’s commercial limits.
