Precision 5690 2-in-1 workstation

The Dell Precision 5690 is a 16-inch convertible laptop built for professional workloads. It runs an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H vPro processor at 2.50 GHz with 64 GB of memory and a 2 TB SSD. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed. The Titan Gray chassis includes a 3840 x 2400 widescreen display, backlit keyboard, webcam and microphone.

Sustained load with integrated Arc graphics

Graphics processing is handled by on-board Intel Arc graphics rather than a discrete GPU. Under continuous heavy compute the system relies on its integrated thermal solution to manage both CPU and GPU heat. Thunderbolt 4 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports remain available for external accelerators or storage if the internal graphics ceiling is reached during extended sessions.

Simple deployment for managed fleets

The laptop arrives ready to join managed environments thanks to vPro support and Windows 11 Pro. No internal assembly is required; peripheral setup uses the provided Thunderbolt 4, HDMI and USB-C connections. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance or user-replaceable memory will find those options unavailable on this platform.

Questions about this item

Does the Core Ultra 9 185H vPro run loud or hot when the Precision 5690 is under sustained load?

The laptop uses integrated Intel Arc graphics and a 2.50 GHz processor, so heat and fan noise scale with the workload you run.

What cables or peripherals must I already have to use the Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI ports on this Precision 5690?

You need a Thunderbolt 4 cable for full-speed docking and an HDMI cable capable of 3840 x 2400 resolution for an external monitor.

Will the 16-inch 3840 x 2400 display and Thunderbolt 4 ports work smoothly with my older USB 3.0 dock and 1080p monitor?

Thunderbolt 4 is backward compatible with USB 3.0 docks, and the HDMI output will drive a 1080p monitor at its native resolution.
