Legion Pro 7i 16" OLED 240Hz gaming laptop

The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i is a 16 inch 2-in-1 laptop built for competitive gaming and content creation. It pairs an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 laptop GPU featuring 16 GB of GDDR7 memory. The system includes 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD running Windows 11 Home.

240Hz OLED panel with HDR 1000 True Black

The display delivers a 2560 x 1600 resolution at 240 Hz with 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage and 500 nits brightness. HDR 1000 True Black certification provides deep contrast for dark scenes. Low blue light mode reduces eye strain during extended sessions. The non-touch glare surface keeps the focus on frame rate.

Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus with P-cores up to 5.50 GHz

The processor reaches 5.50 GHz on P-cores and 4.70 GHz on E-cores for single-threaded performance in games and heavy workloads. Buyers who need a lower thermal envelope or longer unplugged runtime should consider other configurations. The 4-cell battery and 1.00 lbs weight indicate a thin chassis not suited for sustained maximum loads without external power.

Questions about this item

Will the 4-cell lithium-ion battery need replacement after heavy daily charging cycles?

The 4-cell lithium-ion battery is the only user-replaceable power component; its cycle life depends on usage patterns and thermal load.

Does the 240 Hz OLED panel or the RTX 5080 16 GB GDDR7 GPU hit its thermal ceiling first during extended gaming?

Sustained loads push both the 240 Hz OLED and the RTX 5080 16 GB GDDR7 toward their thermal limits; the shared vapor-chamber cooling manages both simultaneously.

How loud do the fans get and what is the surface temperature when the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus runs at 5.50 GHz all day?

Under continuous 5.50 GHz operation the dual-fan system spins up to move heat from the vapor chamber; keyboard deck and exhaust areas become warm to the touch.
